Our local village, Briston
One of the largest villages in Norfolk, Briston is a charming village adjacent to the village of Melton Constable, once famous for its busy railway station (since closed).
Briston has a large village green, which features a travelling fairground and Summer Fete once a year. The Recreation Ground at the Briston Pavilion has an enclosed Children’s playing area, football pitches and tennis courts.
Briston and Melton Constable provide for most requirements with:
- 2 Co-ops With Post Office
- 2 Butchers
- Fresh fish outlet
- Bakery (bread, pastries, sandwiches, cakes, etc.)
- Indian food take away
- Pizza, kebab, fried chicken and fish and chips takeaway
- 2 Garages (one with petrol station)
Whilst the local Co-op supermarkets provide for many necessities, a range of local food is also available. Fresh fish is available locally as well as game in season. Thursford, nearby, has a Thai restaurant with deliveries available.
Briston is approximately 4 miles from the popular town of Holt, 9 miles inland from the coastal village of Blakeney, 11 miles from the coastal resort of Sheringham and 22 miles from the city of Norwich.
